Our Next DTS is October 6th 2024!
DTS is a unique, 6-month live-learn experience designed to transform students into lifelong disciples of Christ. The 12 disciples were trained by spending time with Jesus; observing and following His lead. Their discipleship training process included both listening to Jesus’s teachings and living with Him. The DTS aims to exemplify Jesus’s live-learn model of discipleship.
The first 3 months is the Lecture Phase spent on base. Students learn from speakers on foundational discipleship topics such as the Nature and Character of God, Hearing God’s Voice, Relationships, and Identity in Christ. Following this phase comes the Outreach. Students go and minister to different nations to put everything they’ve learned into practice and experience what being in missions is like.
DTS is the beginning course for anyone who would like to join our staff team here at YWAM Georgia or any other YWAM location world wide. It is also the first course that must be done for anyone interested in any of our secondary courses that are run under our global university- “University of the Nations” which is the training arm of YWAM.The DTS focuses not just on head knowledge but on heart issues and character. We know that knowledge is very important, but without good solid character and a whole heart people will fail in their dreams and visions.This starts with knowing who you are and who you were created to be! We believe you were created by God which gives you ultimate value and not just value but also purpose.
It involves daily studies in a community style living situation. Again, not just with theory or head knowledge but also lots of practical application. The course also includes a 9 week practical outreach where we put into practice the things we learned in the class. On the “outreach” or practical phase we will travel to different locations in Georgia and other Caucasus nations, Turkey, and/or other locations in Eastern Europe.
